DVL Project

Mesa Community College (Mesa, Ariz.) and Brown University (Providence, R.I.) are developing pioneering curriculum modules for teaching digital visual literacy supported by a National Science Foundation grant. In the first year of the grant 5 DVL modules were developed.

Features of the Modules

  • These modules were reviewed for instructional design elements
  • Ensured that there was instructional alignment between objectives, information and assessment
  • Instructor guides were created for each of these modules
  • Worked with faculty on the design of assesments instructionally aligned with the objectives
  • Worked on an assessment and evaluation plan to collect formative evaluation data to test for the effectiveness of these modules

China Project

Mesa Community College (Mesa, Ariz.) is developing curriculum modules for various streams for Professionals in China. Worked as the instructional designer with subject matter experts on the design of the curriculum. Also assisted in the creation of train the trainer workshops for the Virtual Classroom & the User Acceptance Testing for the Learning Platform..

Features of the Project

  • Providing Instructional design expertise to the faculty and helping in the creation of instructionally aligned modules with all the instructional elements (Objectives, Information, Practice & Feedback, and Assessment etc.)
  • Researching on learning theories, methods and materials aligned with the theories that enhances student learning and interactivity in the classroom
  • Working with faculty on the design of assesments instructionally aligned with the objectives
  • This program’s learning platform uses an open source code learning management system and a virtual classroom .
  • Working on the User Acceptance testing of the Learning Management System.
  • Assisting on the design and development of train the trainer workshops for the Learning Platform.
