You have identified the risks existing in the home care environment and then also modified the home care environment in order to make it a safe place for your older loved one. Now it is time for the Last Check. It is a wise practice to re-evaluate your homes and see if there are any more risks present. All risks and hazards in the homes of older adults need to be eliminated in order to achieve a high quality of life for you older loved one. In this section you will:
The goal is to ensure that the home care setting is safe, accessible, and comfortable for the older adult in your care. You will use the risk identification template that you have made in the Assess Risks section. You will draw on your knowledge on home modifications and apply your skills in the final analysis of the home care setting. |
