What are some of the physical health challenges that people encounter as they age? You may have noticed challenges appearing in a relative or loved one such as missed phone calls and unheard doorbells, or frustration when a visual impairment affects one's ability to create crafts.

Bob is eighty years old and he has been encountering these challenges for some time now.

"I just can't keep my balance in the bathtub anymore, it takes so much concentration and even though I do not have a tendency to fall, I'm afraid of hurting myself."

Bob's daughter, Peggy, needs to modify her home so that it is safe for him. Peggy begins this project by reading about the common physical health challenges that Bob may encounter: visual, hearing and mobility.

In the box below, write your observations regarding health problems of the person you care for. You can print out your notes for your reference or you can give them to the physician who provides medical care for your loved one.
