Central Processing Unit

It is the brain of the computer
It executes program instructions, performs calculations, and makes decisions
It is made of the control unit and the arithmetic/logic unit
It is the size of a large postage stamp
Control Unit - It controls the sequence in which instructions are executed
ALU - It performs arithmetic and logical operations
Registers - They allow temporary storage of data for the arithmetic logic unit

Memory

RAM is responsible for storing the instructions and data that the computer is using at the present moment
ROM is responsible for storing permanent data and instructions
