Output Devices

Visual Display Unit (Monitor)	Displays images and text as pixels
Inkjet printer	Sprays ionized tiny drops of ink on to a page
Laser printer	Shines a laser beam to produce an image
Dotmatrix printer	Pins and a ribbon impact the page to print
Thermal printer	Characters are formed by heated elements
Flatbed plotter	Paper is fixed on a flat surface and pens are moved to draw the image
Drum plotter	Pen is moved in a single axis track and the paper itself moves on a cylindrical drum
Inkjet plotter	Inkjet head that sprays ink on the paper
Projector	Projects output image onto wall or screen
Speaker	Components of a computer that produce music, speech or other sound
